A value stock-led rally pushed the US equity indices higher after markets initially struggled for direction - Dow up +153-points or +0.54%. Energy heavyweights Exxon Mobil Corp and Chevron Corp gained +3.7% and 2.4% respectively. Banks also traded strongly, with JPMorgan Chase & Co gaining +3.5%.
